My mother is fabulous! I am 41 years old and she had me in her late 20's. Everywhere we go, people always ask if we are sisters! Although I have an awesome father as well, my mother has been a wonderful mentor to myself and my sister all of our lives. She has won so many awards through out Milwaukee for continuously giving to others but the great part about this is that she NEVER expects anything in return. She is a mentor to many African-American and women of other nationalities here in Milwaukee and have helped so many and she continues to do so with such a loving heart. Her belief is that when you give to others, give and never look back and this is the key to a very successful life. I know that when my mother was growing up, her family would gather food from her garden and every Sunday would feed other families. I have lived with this motto and hence, have carried this on to my son. Every day that he goes to school, I tell him, "remember to be good and most importantly, ... |
